Lifestyle medicine
Lifestyle medicine is a medical specialty that uses therapeutic lifestyle interventions as a primary modality to treat chronic conditions. It is built around six core pillars: sleep, diet, physical activity, stress management, positive social connections, and avoidance of risky substances. These are among the most important modifiable factors shaping our health and overall well-being, while also being areas in which meaningful change is possible. Lifestyle Medicine recommendations and interventions are guided by the principles of Evidence-Based Medicine, meaning they are based on the best available scientific evidence and current clinical guidelines. The goal is long-term improvement in health and reduced disease risk over time, rather than temporary symptom relief alone. In most cases, this is a gradual process that requires active patient participation and ongoing collaboration with a physician. A consultation with me may be helpful for: - sleep disorders - chronic fatigue and stress - improving overall health and lowering future disease risk During the consultation, I take detailed history focused on your health and day-to-day functioning. Based on this assessment, we can identify likely contributing factors and develop an individualized treatment plan tailored to your needs and circumstances. Depending on the case, this may include lifestyle interventions, pharmacologic treatment, and further diagnostic evaluation. During follow-up visits, we review your progress and adjust the plan as needed. When appropriate, or if your case falls outside my scope of practice, I may also recommend referral to or collaboration with another qualified physician, registered dietitian, physical therapist, or psychotherapist.
The consultation does not replace urgent medical care.
